97% of consumers research a local business online before visiting in person — and most decide who to call within 90 seconds. If your Google Business Profile, website and reviews don't pass that 90-second test, the next pin on the map gets the call. The fix starts with knowing where you actually rank. WHY YOU NEED THIS AUDIT

The Reasons Google Buries
Most Local Businesses.

Across the local businesses we've audited in PA, MD and DC, the same four problems show up over and over. Every one of them is fixable — but only if you know which one is actually killing your rankings. The audit tells you exactly which.

The same business listed three different ways

Your Google Business Profile is half-finished from 2020

Wrong hours. Stock photos. Empty Q&A. No weekly posts. The first signal Google uses to decide map-pack ranking is GBP completeness — and most of the profiles we audit score under 60% on profile depth. The fix is usually 4-6 hours of structured work, but you can't fix what you haven't measured.

Fix My Google Profile
Website traffic climbing while the phone stays quiet

Your name, address and phone don't match across the web

Yelp says one suite number, BBB says another, your GBP shows a different phone. NAP inconsistency across 50+ citation sources splits Google's authority signal and tanks your local pack ranking — sometimes by 8-12 positions. The audit catches every mismatch in writing.

Reviews thinning out and going unanswered

Your reviews stopped flowing 18 months ago

Review count matters less than review velocity. If you haven't generated fresh five-star reviews in the last 90 days, Google quietly drops your map-pack ranking because the algorithm assumes you've slowed down or closed. Most owners don't notice until the phones go quiet.

A slow website stuck loading and a broken mobile layout

Your page loads in 6 seconds and you don't know it

Google's Core Web Vitals treat a Largest Contentful Paint above 2.5 seconds as failing, and a slow first paint costs real visitors — people leave before the hero finishes loading. Plenty of local-business sites land well past that line, and the owner has no idea, because their own connection at the office is fine. The audit catches the slow LCP and tells you exactly which assets are the problem.

WHAT YOU GET, IN WRITING

A Real Written Report. A Real Letter Grade. No Sales Call Required.

Inside 48 hours of submitting your business info you’ll get a written PDF audit covering every one of the 12 signals above, with a real letter grade per signal and an overall composite grade. The fixes are listed in priority order, with implementation difficulty (DIY / agency / engineering) and ranking impact (low / medium / high) labeled on every one. We treat this audit the same way we’d treat a paying-client engagement — because the businesses that get value from it are the ones who hire us, and the ones who don’t recommend us. Most recipients never hire us, and that’s fine: the audit is yours to keep, share with any agency, and act on at your own pace.

  • 12-point letter-grade scorecard, written in plain English (not jargon)
  • Top 3 fixes ranked by ranking impact and implementation cost
  • Top 3 competitors benchmarked alongside your scores
  • Specific data sources cited so you can verify every claim
  • DIY-able fixes flagged separately from agency-required work
  • Yours to keep — even if you never hire us

75% of all local-pack clicks go to the top 3 map pins. The other 7 results split the remaining 25%. Which means the gap between rank #3 and rank #4 is bigger than the gap between rank #4 and rank #10. The audit tells you exactly how far you are from the top 3 — and what specifically is keeping you out. Source: BrightLocal Local Search Industry Survey

AUDIT FAQ

Questions Owners Ask
Before Submitting the Form.

It’s really free. The catch — if there is one — is that we hope you’ll like the audit enough to consider hiring us for the implementation. Some recipients do; most take the fixes to a different agency or implement them themselves, and we never hear from them again. We’re comfortable with that math.

48 hours from form submission, business days. Most arrive in your inbox in 24-36 hours because we batch them in the morning. If you submit Friday afternoon, expect it Monday or Tuesday. We don’t do rush audits because rushing this kind of work is how mistakes happen. If you want to know what the weeks after the audit look like, what happens next sets out the whole first 30 days.

No. Everything we audit is publicly visible on Google, your website and the citation aggregators. We don’t ask for any account access for the free audit. If you hire us afterward, we’ll request read-only access during onboarding for the deeper Google Ads + Search Console analysis.

One follow-up email after we send the audit (so you can ask questions if you want), and one phone call if we promised one in the form. That’s it. No drip campaign, no pressure, no ‘just checking in’ nonsense. We’re a real business with real clients — we don’t have time to harass people who didn’t ask for a sales call.

We deliver audits nationwide. Our service area for ongoing engagements is currently PA, MD, DC and the surrounding region, but the audit itself works for any English-language local business. If you’re outside our retainer footprint, you’ll still get a real audit — and we’ll point you at a credible local agency for implementation if you ask.

Absolutely — that’s part of why we put it in writing. The audit is yours. Hand it to your agency, your in-house marketing person, or your spouse who ‘knows a guy’ — we don’t care. We’ve earned plenty of business from owners who took our audit, gave it to their existing agency for implementation, came back two years later when that agency disappointed them, and hired us with a clean slate.

The audit still works — it’ll just have more ‘not yet established’ grades than ‘fix this.’ For a brand-new business the audit becomes a launch checklist instead of a fix list, which is arguably more useful. Submit anyway. For that launch-checklist use case we also publish the website launch & redesign checklist itself, free on this site.

Yes, but only because we may need to reach you with a clarifying question while building the audit (industry-specific competitive set, primary service area, etc.). One question, one phone call max. We don’t sell or share your number — full stop. Privacy policy linked in the form footer.
