Choosing a dentist is a local, low-frequency decision: people do it when they move, when they change insurance, or when something hurts. In every case the search is the same — a dentist, near me, taking new patients — and the map appears before any website does. The profile behind each map pin is doing the selling.
A complete profile for a practice means the right primary category (general dentist, orthodontist, pediatric dentist — not “doctor”), every service listed in patient language, real photographs of the reception, the rooms and the people, hours that match the door, the booking link, and the insurance and payment details in the description. It also means the profile is looked after: holiday hours set, questions answered, edits from strangers reversed.
We set the profile up properly once and keep it current through Google Business Profile management, and the background on what the listing does and does not do is in what a Google Business Profile does for a company.
